Interview of our very own Harrison Sodje

Can you just tell us a little bit about your footballing background and when you joined Leyton Orient?

“I started playing football at the age of six, I got scouted by Chelsea and I was there for two years with the U9s and U10s. I moved onto Charlton and was there with the U11s and U14s and then played with the U16s with Orient and I have been here ever since.”

What position do you play, and what made you want to play there?

“I play left back and centre back, throughout my journey I’ve always been left sided, so anywhere on the left really. I’m just comfortable going forward as well as defensively, so I’m good at doing both jobs.”

If you had to compare yourself to a player in your position that best resembles your playing style, who would it be and why?

“I would say David Alaba, because he is comfortable on the ball and that’s a trait that I have, and he is very versatile as well. That’s something I would like to focus my game on.”

What would you say is your best attribute?

“I’d say I possess a lot of power and good leadership skills as well as resilient.”

Do you have any goals that you want to achieve with your time at Leyton Orient?

“I want to be in and around the first team, hopefully make the match day squad this season. In the Papa John’s Trophy or the league, I see Dan and Jephte and they are doing really well, it just inspires me to keep working hard, and hopefully I get my opportunity.”
