Giving is our goal this Christmas: supporting Highams Park Food Aid

The O’s have been supporting The Hub at Highams Park Food Aid in the run-up to Christmas, with a percentage of every Christmas party meal booked at the Club being donated to support its festive meal deliveries.

The food aid project started with just 5 families around Easter 2020 but expanded quickly, and to date has provided more than 70,000 meals to the local community. At Christmas, The Hub ensures that its beneficiaries have the chance to enjoy a proper Christmas – with individually packed hampers filled with all the essentials for a Christmas meal.

A couple of months ago, left-backs Connor Wood and Jayden Sweeney visited The Hub’s base at All Saints Church in Highams Park. They packed crates of food and then made up food parcels to be given to beneficiaries. “For the Club as well, being in the middle of a community, it’s vital that we can help each other out,” said Sweeney.

Volunteers from the food bank will be attending this weekend’s match at the Breyer Group Stadium against Crawley Town, and will be around the stadium pre-match, during half time and post-match collecting donations – cash donations will be accepted so please bring your spare change to donate!
