Club statement : Match Postponements

This afternoon, Leyton Orient Football Club chairman, Nigel Travis, and CEO, Danny Macklin have written to the EFL to seek further clarification on fixture postponements.

Leyton Orient Football Club prides itself in its close relationship with its loyal fanbase and has great empathy for the frustration that has built up over the last month with four postponed Sky Bet League Two games due COVID-19.

Fans have pre-paid for tickets, and in many cases have made arrangements including pre-booking of public transport, often which cannot be refunded. This has created frustration, cost and nervousness in planning to attend future games among supporters.

Today, we will be speaking to the EFL seeking a solution to this problem and we encourage them to look at what other sports have done around the world, to avoid postponements which is going to result in a huge fixture congestion later in the season.

Previously, we have also asked the EFL to investigate some of the cases involving our opponents, where we have seen last-minute postponements.

Nigel Travis, Chairman.

Danny Macklin, CEO.
