Manager calls for more of the same against Scunthorpe
RUSSELL SLADE wants more of the same from his team when they take on Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
The O's are currently on an eight-game winning run and Slade credits much of that to the O's work ethic and discipline.
He says those qualities will need to come to the fore against the Iron.
He said: "It will take a big effort to keep the run going, that's for sure. We're delighted with the eight we've got so far, but we can't underestimate the opposition that are coming down.
"When you look at their squad on paper it's very, very decent and they play some really good football.
"Our attitude towards training and the focus has been remarkable to be honest, and that's probably what's got us this far.
"I don't see that changing, preparation won't change and the way we go about it won't change."
Slade will have to do without his skipper Nathan Clarke once again as he recovers from a fracture to a bone in his foot and striker Michael Symes is also out.
He added: "We found a cracked bone in an unusual position for him. In terms of weight bearing he has to keep his weight off that foot at the moment.
"He's in a foot splint and will be in that for another week. We're looking to get him back in the middle of January.
"Michael has a hamstring problem, but it's not a serious one. He won't be out for any length of time."
