New loan arrival keen to push on after Tranmere experience
ORIENT'S latest signing Ryan Brunt is looking to build on his League 1 experience over his loan spell in E10.
The 19-year-old striker, who joined the O's on loan from Stoke City on Tuesday, played 15 games for Tranmere Rovers last season whilst also on loan from the Potters.
He featured in Tranmere's 2-0 victory over the O's in March and believes his time at Prenton Park will stand him in good stead for the six months ahead.
It's a great opportunity for me to start the season with a new club, especially in League 1, and hopefully I can do well," he said.
"It's nice to sign here for six months. That gives me a bit of continuity and will allow me to get settled in the squad.
"I learned a huge amount playing men's football with Tranmere last season and it was a great experience. I want to build on that now here and become a better player.
"I need to do a bit of fitness work, I've only had a week so far. Pre-season is never a nice time, but I'm looking forward to it.
"It'll be nice to get a shirt on at Sutton on Wednesday so we'll see what the gaffer says."
Brunt joins Kevin Lisbie, David Mooney and Michael Symes in the O's striking unit and he is looking forward to working with the trio.
He added: "There's a few good players here in my position. I know Kevin Lisbie has been at a few top clubs so it'll be good to work with all of them and see if we can make a good partnership.
"I'm a target man, I try to hold the ball up, get in the box and score a few goals hopefully.
"My aims are to score a few goals, do well and get the team into the top half of the division."
