JAMES: 'We Can't Underestimate Them'

Midfielder predicting tough FA Cup second round match at Alfreton

LLOYD JAMES knows the O's will have to match the level of performance from their five-match winning run if they are to continue their good form at Alfreton Town on Sunday.

James and his teammates have the opportunity to progress to the third round of the FA Cup with Budweiser - where the Premier League sides join the action.

Alfreton, of Blue Square Premier, stand in their way, and although the Derbyshire club ply their trade two divisions below the O's, 24-year-old midfielder James says their threat cannot be taken lightly.

"It's important not to underestimate them," he said. "We saw that when we played Gloucester [in Round One]. They come out of the blocks at you and you've got to be ready for anything they throw at you.

"At the end of the day you've just got to be prepared for a battle. That's what it's going to be and hopefully we can get the result.

"Everyone looks forward to the FA Cup and we fancy our chances, especially in the form we're in at the minute and it would be good to keep the run going."

The ESPN cameras will be at the Impact Arena for Sunday's game, hoping for a Cup upset as they broadcast to the nation, but former Colchester man James insists that doesn't add any pressure to the tie.

He continued: "I don't think that's on your mind when you're out there to be honest. It's 90 minutes of football, whether it's on the TV or not.

"It would mean so much to get through to the third round and get a good draw. It's what you dream of as a kid, to play the big teams. We've experienced playing at Everton already this season and if we could do it again it would be fantastic for us."

James, along with several other O's players, has spent November cultivating a moustache for the Movember cause, raising money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK. His tache will bite the dust on Friday at the end of the month, but he is urging O's fans to give to this worthy cause in one last push.

He added: "I am looking forward to getting rid of the moustache eventually! It's really itching now, but there's still time to get those donations in so hopefully a few people get onto that now." (Click here to donate)
