LISBIE: 'We Need To Push On'

14 November 2012

Striker wants Shrewsbury win to spark momentum ahead of Gloucester trip

KEVIN LISBIE is hoping the O's can build on the momentum gained from Saturday's win over Shrewsbury when they travel to Gloucester City for their rearranged FA Cup with Budweiser Round One tie on Wednesday night.

Lisbie netted twice to help Orient secure their first win in five at the weekend, marking a perfect return from a hamstring injury for the veteran striker.

But he knows that needs to be the start of an improvement in form and he's sure the O's have what it takes to make sure that becomes a reality.

"Saturday was massive," he said. "A draw would have been disappointing for us and to score so late in the game as well proves we have a bit of character in the team.

"It shows we can push on and that's what we need to do now, starting with Wednesday's game at Gloucester.

"It happened to be me to score the winning goal on Saturday, but it would have been exactly the same feeling whoever had scored the winner because we needed that.

"The way we played we deserved the win as well. Hopefully that can kickstart us and help us climb the table again.

"I couldn't have asked for a better way to come back - just to win the game was the main thing but every striker wants goals and to be the one who helps the team."
