PREVIEW: Manager Sure Results Will Come

9 November 2012

Russell Slade looks ahead to Saturday's Brisbane Road meeting with Shrewsbury Town

ORIENT manager Russell Slade believes his team are peering around the corner they wish to turn ahead of Saturday's game against Shrewsbury Town.

The O's last four games have brought defeat without a goal being scored, although the manager feels that sufficient chances are being created to end that run.

Shrewsbury arrive in E10 a place and two points behind the O's and Slade is focused on making sure that gap increases come 5pm on Saturday.

"It's a big, big game, but as we said to them after MK Dons, we're inches away rather than miles away," he said.

"Providing we go out with that same focus and attitude then results will come.

"There's always pressure of some nature or another. It's something I'm used to, it's something that certainly the senior players are used to and I'll be looking towards them to make sure we're making the right decisions in those situations.

"It's disappointing that we're creating chances but not finishing, but I have to say the players have been fantastic. They're a great bunch, positive and we're trying to keep them that way."

Orient were boosted in midweek by the return of Kevin Lisbie from injury and Slade is sure he will have a big impact on his team.

He added: "The gameplan was to get Kevin Lisbie some minutes [on Wednesday]. We did that and it looks like he's come through it, which is really positive for us.

"Our bench is getting stronger as players come back to full fitness."
