Boss delighted as O's go goal crazy at CarlisleO'S BOSS Russell Slade was delighted after a storming first 45 minutes gave his side a crushing 4-1 victory at Carlisle United on Saturday.
The Londoners made light of the long journey to do all the damage before the break as David Mooney scored twice, with Lee Cook and Ben Chorley also getting on the scoresheet.
After a barren month when goals were hard to come by, Slade was delighted to see the O's click as an attacking force.
"It was a really good 45 minutes," he beamed. "I thought we looked a real threat, a real danger going forward, which I haven't been able to say too often this season.
"There was some great delivery going into the box and some really good interplay between Lis and Moons, and the widemen Coxy and Cooky.
"We caused them a lot of problems and for that we got four goals which was fantastic.
"We were clinical and it was nice to cap off our good movement with goals, which sometimes we haven't been able to do in the past."
Orient also had to deal with losing their initial 1-0 lead and they did so in style, as Ben Chorley netted a minute after Carlisle's Peter Murphy equalised - and Slade was pleased with how they responded.
He continued: "I was a bit disappointed with the equaliser because they hadn't caused us too many problems early on. Ryan could have done a bit better, but we've lost the header as well and it was a bit of a sloppy one to give away.
"But it was a great response, we got the second and then it wasn't too long we had to wait for the third."
The victory was Orient's third in a row and the manner of it was especially pleasing, particularly given that the visitors didn't let their focus slip in the second period.
Slade said: "You have to remember and I reminded them at half time that after four defeats in a row it was a hard time for us, and you have to be ruthless when times like today's come along.
"It was important not to let Carlisle off the hook. Carlisle came out and played with a lot of spirit second half and we had to stand up to that.
"We did and it was still comfortable in the end of course."
