Manager heartened by performance but disappointed by lack of goalsRUSSELL SLADE was encouraged by the O's performance in defeat to Coventry City on Saturday, despite a lack of firepower from his team again.
The O's drew a blank for a third game in a row as Coventry took the points thanks to David McGoldrick's goal, which followed a handling error from Ryan Allsop.
But it was not down to a lack of chances on this occasion as the Londoners created the openings which should have seen them take something from the game.
Slade said: "We've made a mistake today and paid dearly for it. Ryan's been in excellent form from the start of the season and it's just one of those things.
"We asked for certain things today and we felt that we got that.
"Certainly our quality of ball into the box was better from set plays, we got good crosses into the box and created openings.
"If we play like that we'll win more games than we lose but it's all about goals and we didn't get them.
"The lack of goals is frustrating because we are creating. We need to keep believing and make sure when we get in front of goal again we get one.
"When you get one, who knows, three or four could come along at the same time."
