NEWS: Griffith Banned For One Game

24 September 2012

Suspension means midfielder will miss this Saturday's game against Doncaster

ANTHONY GRIFFITH will be suspended for this Saturday's visit of Doncaster Rovers in npower League 1 after being sent off in the 1-1 draw at Crewe Alexandra.

Griffith saw red in second half stoppage time at the Alexandra Stadium after picking up his second yellow card.

Referee Graham Salisbury produced two bookings for fouls on Abdul Osman and Luke Murphy, sending the O's midfielder for an early bath.

Being dismissed for a second bookable offence carries a one-game suspension, which the former Port Vale man will serve against Doncaster.

O's boss Russell Slade said of his player's sending off: "They were both yellow cards, I have to say. I said to the referee that I have no qualms about it.

"Having got the first one he was a bit silly with the second one and that's cost him a game now.
