New Football League sponsors Sky Bet have priced the O’s at 11/1 to gain promotion from League One this season after narrowly missing out on the playoffs last time around.
Russell Slade’s side are also given odds of 33/1 to win the division outright, whilst Kevin Lisbie is priced at 50/1 to be the division’s top scorer in 2013-14.
The bookmaker makes Kenny Jackett’s Wolves the clear front-runners for the League One title at 7/2, with recently relegated Peterborough (11/4) and Bristol City (100/30) also tipped to make an immediate return to the Championship. After missing out on promotion in the final seconds of last season, Uwe Rosler’s big-spending Brentford are available at 7/2 to make amends this time around.
At the other end of the table, Colchester (7/4), Shrewsbury (15/8) and Stevenage (2/1) are short prices for relegation after narrowly beating the drop last season. After defying the odds last season, Dean Smith’s Walsall are predicted to struggle (7/2) in 2013-14 after the likes of Will Grigg and Febian Brandy left the Saddlers over the summer.
After netting 23 times in the SPL for Hibernian last season, Wolves forward Leigh Griffiths is made the 6/1 favourite to top the League One scoring charts this season. Bristol City’s Sam Baldock (14/1), Coventry’s Leon Clarke (16/1) and Brentford’s Clayton Donaldson (18/1) are the bookmakers other favourites for the division’s golden boot.
