Orient wingman takes time out of his day to support youngsters
Dean Cox took time out of his day off recently to pop in to the Score Centre opposite the Matchroom Stadium and check on how the Leyton Orient futsal teams were doing, staying around to watch both the A and B teams games versus Chelsea and Brighton respectively.
After witnessing an 11-0 demolition over Chelsea, Coxy said, “It’s great to come and support the lads. I have a bit of banter with a couple of them on Twitter and promised I’d come down again as last time I was here they won so it seems I’m a lucky charm.” The A team however, are top of their league and leading scorer Rajpal Bumbra, who bagged six against the Blues, commented, “It’s great to have Deano here. He has great banter and it really does inspire us knowing one of the (Leyton Orient) players are watching us. We’ve had Moons (David Mooney) and Mathieu (Baudry) watch us and Romain (Vincelot) did a piece for Soccer AM so the support from the players is brilliant and really appreciated.”
The B team had more of a close encounter with rivals Brighton being 2-0 down at half time but recovering to eventually win 4-2. “I suppose I should have split loyalties coming from Brighton,” commented Cox “but I’m definitely behind the O’s boys. They showed great character and some of the goals were top class. I wanted to go out and join them!”
