SLADE: 'It'll Be Tough'

15 February 2013

Manager expects stern test from Hartlepool

ORIENT manager Russell Slade believes the midweek break has done his side some favours as they look to make it six games unbeaten in the league when they face bottom of the table Hartlepool United tomorrow.

He said: “The break has hopefully freshened us up a little bit, we’ve got our legs back and anyone that’s had a bit of a niggle, I think it’s helped their cause as well. We are looking forward to it.”

Despite their league position, Hartlepool are enjoying a four game unbeaten spell themselves and Slade believes they will be a stern test.

“They’re in good shape, you’ve just got to look as far as current form and they’re right up there. They’ve had some really terrific wins since they beat Sheffield United away and they’ve been on a great run so we know it’s going to be a tough game.

“With regards to injuries Kevin Lisbie is out, there’s a doubt as well with regards to Dean Cox but other than that we’re ok.

“We’ve got 15 games to go, we’re looking forward to those games and we’re just going to try and get as many points as we can and that’s the only thing we’ve got in our minds at the minute.”

Meanwhile Moses Odubajo this week signed a new contract with the club and Slade again is pleased that the deal has been done.

“It’s brilliant for everyone. It’s taken a little bit of time, his agent spends a lot of time out of the country which delayed things a little bit but there was a good understanding between both parties and in the end we got the job done.”
