Defender thinks O's can cause Cup shock at Hull this Saturday
SCOTT CUTHBERT believes the O's have what it takes to beat the odds and defeat Hull City in the FA Cup with Budweiser on Saturday.
Orient travel to the KC Stadium to take on a Hull side right in the thick of a promotion charge in the Championship.
Steve Bruce's men are currently second in their division, but Cuthbert says the O's hopes shouldn't be written off, despite a disappointing New Year's Day defeat to Yeovil in the League.
"I think it's a good game for us, an away tie in a nice stadium with a nice pitch," the defender said.
"They're flying at the moment and are up towards the top of the Championship, so not many people will expect us to go up there and get a result, but we expect it.
"We feel that on our day we're good enough to match anyone, so we're looking forward to it."
Cuthbert is well aware that for a shock to happen, Orient need a huge improvement on their midweek display, but given that the Londoners have won nine out of their last 11 games, he insists that isn't beyond the realms of possibility.
He added: "As a team we were really disappointed with the way we played on Tuesday at Yeovil. I don't think we matched them and didn't get close to them, especially in the first half.
"We haven't conceded three goals many times this season so that was really disappointing too.
"But we have to remember we've been on a great run and we can't take our foot off the gas.
"We have to keep working hard in training and put the performances in like we have been up until Tuesday."
