Win over Northampton in previous round secures Johnstone's Paint prize for O's
LEYTON ORIENT have made the perfect start to 2013 – by winning their first award of the year.
The O’s have claimed the Southern Section Team of the Round prize for the Area Quarter-Finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy following a 3-0 victory at Northampton last month.
Russell Slade’s side progressed courtesy of a brace from David Mooney and a Michael Symes penalty to record their seventh straight victory in all competitions.
Bradford caught the eye of the adjudication panel to claim the Northern Section award thanks to a 2-0 victory at Port Vale.
“With the prospect of a Wembley final getting closer all the time, the stakes are getting higher and there were a lot of good performances from the teams that progressed,” said Ben Wilde, Johnstone’s Paint Brand and Sponsorship Manager.
“But the results of both Bradford and Leyton Orient were eye-catching and they are worthy recipients of the awards.”
The O's aim to stay on the road to Wembley when they entertain Yeovil in the Southern Area Semi-Finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday.
