O’S NEW SIGNING Shaun Batt has pledged that there is more to come from him having signed a two-year contract with the O’s following his loan spell in E10 last season.
Batt had attracted the interest of a number of League 1 sides but decided to re-join Russell Slade’s side after enjoying his 13 game loan spell last season.
“I’m happy to come back here, I had a really successful loan spell here that was good for me in terms of getting back playing and I’m hoping to come back here and do well.
“I know all the lads here and get on really well with them and the manager, I had a nice chat with the chairman and it’s a familiar place for me and local and I feel I can do well here,” said Batt.
Following his loan spell in E10, Batt was recalled by Millwall and went on to score in the Championship and play in the FA Cup semi-final against Wigan and Batt feels he owes the O’s and Russell Slade for their part in his return from his injury troubles.
He said: “None of that would have happened if hadn’t been for Orient and Russell hadn’t given me a chance so I owe a lot to Orient and want to do even better than I did last time around.
“It’s good that we’ve kept the core of the side together and hopefully we can do something next year. As long as we start the season well we can hopefully get some confidence and momentum and just see how far we go.”
