Midfielder commits his future to the O's
ORIENT midfielder Romain Vincelot has signed a new three-year contract with the Club.
The Frenchman signed from Brighton & Hove Albion in time for the second half of the 2012-13 campaign and made 15 appearances in all as he became a key part of the Orient team that finished the season strongly.
Vincelot scored one goal from central midfield and was also nominated for the npower League 1 Player Of The Month prize for April after he put in an impressive string of performances in a less familiar central defensive role.
Romain admitted he feels at home in E10, he said: "I'm very pleased to agree this contract. I was on holiday thinking about next season and the choice of my heart was always Orient. I feel very at home and comfortable at Orient, we have a terrific group of lads and there's a great atmosphere so the team spirit is excellent. The fans have always made me feel very welcome here too.
"I like the manager's style too, he allows you to express yourself and gives you just the right amount of pressure.
"I wanted to commit long term to the club as I feel with this group of players, we can be ambitious and it could be a good project. Next season if we can prepare and get a good start we can see how far we go. Personally too I just want to continue what I started to do at the end of last season."
Orient manager Russell Slade was delighted that the 27-year-old has committed his future to the O’s and said: “Securing the services of Romain is massive for us and I think he will prove to be a top signing.
“He was very impressive when he came into the side later on during last season and though we will predominantly see him as a midfielder, he also showed his versatility when he filled in at centre back for the last few games. He’s a great athlete too and gives us plenty of energy.”
