The National Citizen Service (NCS) programme is a unique, once in a lifetime opportunity that is currently being offered to every young person between the ages of 15 and 17It is part of the governments youth development policy and it gives young people the chance to spend some of their holidays undertaking exciting and challenging activities.
NCS is an outstanding opportunity which will allow youngsters to develop confidence, learn new skills and meet new people. The aim of the programme is to give young people the opportunity to get ahead by having fresh experiences and learning new skills such as leadership, problem solving and team building that are valuable to employers and further education organisations. The programme has been designed to enhance young people’s CV’s and UCAS application forms.
The Autumn NCS programme is open to Year 12 students only and is largely delivered across the half term week from Mon 28th October – Sat 2nd November 2013. The first three days consist of a residential based at Danbury Activity Centre, Essex where they will experience a range of challenging outdoor adventure activities such as archery, kayaking, hi/low ropes, rock-climbing and orienteering, whilst the remaining days will be based at Leyton Orient Football Club preparing and planning a social action project in their local community.
SIGN UP PROCESS
Places for the Leyton Orient NCS programme are limited to 45, students must be in Year 12 only and be aged 16 or 17. The cost of this fantastic opportunity is only £50!! This includes all meals, kit, accommodation, travel, activities and a graduation ceremony, with £25 RETURNED on completion. Financial support to cover the cost may be available if required.

PARENTS INFORMATION EVENING
The Community Programme will hold two Open Evenings in the two weeks before the NCS course begins to provide more detailed information on the project and to outline kit requirements and answer any queries students / parents may have.
