O's boss is named Manager Of The Month for August but Vincelot misses out on the player award
LEYTON ORIENT manager Russell Slade has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Manager Of The Month for August.
The O's boss also picked up the award in March earlier this year and was a clear favourite for the August prize after his side romped to five wins out of five in the opening month to leave them top of the table.
The start marked the best in the Club's 132-year history and included wins over: Carlisle, Shrewsbury, Stevenage, Crewe and Colchester.
The winning run has also included 13 goals scored and just two conceded as the O's continued their form in the latter half of the 2012-13 season, meaning they have lost just six League games this calendar year.
Slade beat off competition from the other nominees that included: Kenny Jackett (Wolves), Darren Ferguson (Peterborough Utd) and Steven Pressley (Coventry City).
Midfielder Romain Vincelot was also nominated for the Player Of The Month after a terrific run of form but missed out to Nakhi Wells of Bradford City.
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Manager of the Month comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley; Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins.
