Curry and Quiz Night

15 April 2014

Local businesses rally to support Leyton Orient’s bike ride for Prostate Cancer UK

The Bike Shack on Ruckholt Road have teamed up with the Star of India Restaurant in Leytonstone to organise a Curry and Quiz Night event to help raise funds for the Leyton Orient Prostate Cancer UK cycle ride to Amsterdam along with representatives from across the Football League.

The quiz night will take place on Wednesday 14th May from 7.30pm with tickets costing £12 which includes entrance to the quiz and a delicious Indian Buffet from club partners and award winning chefs at the Star of India.

Tom Preedy, Director of the Bike Shack said, “When we heard about the Leyton Orient riders taking part in the Amsterdam challenge we felt we had to get involved and lend our expertise to Neil and the team. We also wanted to help to fundraise so we are organising this quiz evening at the Star of India with our own target of raising £500 to help the team on the way to their fundraising target for such a fantastic cause.”

Neil Taylor, Chief Executive from LOCSP and Cycle Team Leader was delighted with the news. “It is fantastic that two local businesses wish to help us raise funding for and awareness of prostate cancer. We are looking forward to a great evening”

Tickets can be purchased from the website here or call in to the shop on 26 Ruckholt Road, Leyton.

There will be a raffle on the evening with some Leyton Orient  signed memorabilia amongst the prizes along with plenty more so get involved and help support the Leyton Orient Prostate Cancer UK bike ride.

You can also contribute to the cause by donating online here or if you are a business that would like to donate an item as a raffle prize or to auction off for the cause then please email r.noble@leytonorient.net.

Bike Shack will also be present at the Grand Depart on Friday 6th June, offering last minute tips and accessories to the 140 cyclists representing over 40 Football League Clubs.
