LIVERANI: 'The next three are big games for us'

18 December 2014

ORIENT manager Fabio Liverani has stated the importance of the next 10 days as he looks to hit the New Year with some momentum as O’s boss.

The O’s travel to Barnsley on Saturday in the midst of a poor run which has seen the side pick up just one win in their last seven, but Liverani believes he saw reasons to be positive following the defeat to Peterborough last weekend.

“Looking back at the Peterborough game, I was happy with the performance,” said Liverani. “We started well and came close to scoring early on and had a few good chances. I thought their first goal came against the run of play and I saw a great attitude in the players and reasons to be positive.”

The home side Barnsley are without a win in four themselves but the O’s boss is expecting a tough game at Oakwell.

“I’ve watched Barnsley and they are a good side at home, I expect them to attack from the beginning and be physical but our players know the division well and what to expect. It is really important to come back with some points. The next three games are massive for us.”

Injuries still plague the Orient squad and Chris Dagnall remains suspended, though Liverani has been boosted by the likes of Darius Henderson returning to training.
“I’m seeing more of the players returning from injury which is promising however I’m not sure if they will be ready for Saturday. We will assess a few over the next couple of days.”
