Former Reading man becomes latest to join Russell Slade's side
LEYTON ORIENT have today (Friday) signed former Reading midfielder Jobi McAnuff subject to a medical.
McAnuff has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the O’s following his release from Reading at the end of last season after five years at the Madejski Stadium.
The 32-year-old has a wealth of experience at Championship level and made 35 appearances for Reading last year whilst he also skippered the Royals in the Premier League two years ago.
It’s a return to London for McAnuff who was born in Edmonton and also has eight caps for Jamaica and he believes it’s a case of the right place at the right time.
“It’s been a long summer for me,” revealed McAnuff. “I’ve had a few offers but have been waiting for the right fit and I believe I’ve found it here at Orient.
“The more I spoke to the manager and learned about the Club, it just seems a great place to be.”
We’ll have a full interview with the new man shortly on www.leytonorient.com
