O’s mascot Theo the Wyvern took a trip to the Haven House Children’s Hospice Summer Fayre in Woodford recently to join in with the fundraising activities.
The annual fayre helps to raise money for the charity that supports families and cares for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across North and East London, West Essex and East Hertfordshire.
Theo stood between the sticks for a penalty shoot-out whilst a donation by children and parents alike contributed towards the children’s hospice. Each contributor then had three attempts to try and score a goal against the O’s mascot.
After showing off his goal keeping skills, he took time to wander around the fayre and meet the families and children that were visiting the event. He even bumped into his old friend Henry the Hound, the Haven House mascot!
The fayre was a great success and raised approximately £10,000 for the charity.
Kate Donoghue from Haven House said, “We’d like to thank Theo and Leyton Orient for their continued support. It’s always lovely to see Theo and he always brings a smile to the children’s faces.”
