Leyton Orient Academy players and the Matchroom Stadium were on show at the FIFA congress to their members just ahead of the World Cup a few weeks ago.
The filming took place in and around the stadium towards the end of last season with the final film being seen by leading FIFA delegates from all over the world as they gathered for their annual meeting.
One of the video’s shown featured James and Michael Searle, brothers from the Academy team, as well as Sam Ling from the current under 18’s. The video aimed to show that FIFA is committed to supporting the development of youth players and providing organised competition at all age levels.
Another video shown was to promote women’s football and the steady growth of the women’s game around the world and features shots from inside the Matchroom Stadium, as well as in the local area.
This is one of a number of film and photo shoots that have taken place over the years at the Matchroom Stadium which provides not only an accessible location with good transport links but also a great contrast of modern and historic backdrops creating a flexible environment to shoot the perfect video or get the best photograph.
