PREVIEW: Notts County (A)

7 March 2014

Orient head to Meadow Lane looking to make it four wins on the bounce as the League 1 promotion race heats up...

O's boss Russell Slade is sweating on the fitness of several key players this week as he revealed that Mathieu Baudry and David Mooney have missed training due to injuries, whilst Nathan Clarke and Shaun Batt had only made it through a light session on Thursday.

For the home side, who have lost their last three, the injury front is looking more rosy as sidelined trio Dean Leacock, Gary Liddle and Mustapha Dumbuya could return to action.

Leacock has been ruled out due to a thigh injury but has resumed training this week. Dumbuya has also been back in full training and it is hoped that he will be ready for the Orient game, following Kieron Freeman’s loan expiry. Liddle featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly in midweek - his first action since a nasty ankle ligament injury received in the December clash with Bristol City.

In the dugout, the two managers are no strangers to each other with Russell Slade having worked to sign Shaun Derry as a teenager back during Slade's time on the coaching staff at Notts County in the 1990s.

Derry joined Notts County as manager in November and though his side have shown glimmers of good form under his tenure, they remain rooted to the bottom of the League 1 table and have lost six of their last seven. The Magpies have struggled to grind out results and the form guide would suggest a draw is unlikely as they have only picked up three draws all season.

Orient will be looking for another convincing victory having hammered County 5-1 at the Matchroom Stadium back in September, whilst the last trip to Meadow Lane 12 months ago ended 1-1 with a Kevin Lisbie penalty salvaging a point for Slade's side.

Sky Bet make Orient favourites at 17/20 with the home side at 14/5 and a draw at 12/5. For those odds and loads more open an account at www.skybet.com/Orient
