Chelsea the favourites for F30 tournament
Glenn Hoddle looked at the newly laid odds from William Hill and feels the best bet is to back Chelsea to retain their Legends trophy.
williamhill.com have signed up to become the betting partner for the Elite Legends Cup to be stage at Brisbane Road on Sunday May 18 - where the last remaining tickets are still on sale on the club web site.
The greatest collection of legends form Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and West Ham, led by Paolo Di Canio, scorer of the Premier League’s greatest ever goal, are coming to the Matchroom Stadium.
Here are the exclusive odds published first on the Leyton Orient web site...
West Ham 5/2
Hoddle analysed the betting and said: “I’d go along with the general view that Chelsea are very strong favourites looking at the team line up.
“They won it last time with Zola, Hasselbaink and Flo, and although Hasselbaink is now coaching with Antwerp and cannot make it, Chelsea will be the team to beat, and I’d put my money on them
“But West Ham do look very strong and its no wonder they are second favourites, but if your looking for dark horses than Spurs with Teddy Sheringham in their attack and Darren Anderton look good to me as well.
“I’ve seen all the banter, and the players miss all of that in the dressing room, but I also saw how seriously they took this tournament when they realised it was competitive football, not just a testimonial or exhibition game.
“There will be a big crowd, as there was at Fulham, there will be several TV stations at Leyton Orient, and there should be a great atmosphere just as there was at Craven Cottage.”
