Manager backs Orient to bounce back however despite Play-Off heartbreak
Orient manager Russell Slade was devastated after his side lost the League 1 Play-Off Final on penalties to Rotherham.
“It was the worst feeling in football I’ve had,” said Slade. “It’s very hard to take in that manner but we’ll have to dust ourselves down, reflect and for now though we have to deal with it.
“All those values that we’ve shown all season came out again today and we’ve thrown everything this season. We just need to find a bit more now from somewhere. We’re made of the right stuff though and are fantastic people to work with. We don’t lose those qualities overnight and I trust them to come back.
“It was two teams that gave it everything, it was always going to be a tight game and so it turned out. Congratulations to Rotherham, it’s been a good season for them, I’ve just got to get my group up there again.
“The only thing I would say is that I don’t think it’s a free-kick in the build up to Revell’s first goal and that turned the momentum a bit.
“Our fans were superb today though and enjoyed themselves. We’re a club that needs to move forward again.”
