PREVIEW: Peterborough v Orient (JPT)

2 September 2014

Orient travel to familiar hunting ground looking to progress against the cup holders

ORIENT travel to London Road this evening unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions and looking to progress into round two of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against the current cup holders Peterborough United.

Darren Ferguson's side will need no introduction to O's fans as the teams met four times last season after the memorable Play-Off Semi Final which saw the O's win 3-2 on aggregate to progress to Wembley.

The Posh are off to a flyer in the League this season and sit top of the table with 12 points from five games and will be keen to keep up that sort of form as they defend the trophy that they won at Wembley last March when they defeated Chesterfield 3-1.

Russell Slade will be looking to continue their good form in the cup competitions after they defeated Aston Villa last week in the Capital One Cup.

Elliot Omozusi limped off in the draw at Fleetwood Town whilst Shaun Batt and Kevin Lisbie are still missing. Gary Sawyer came off at Aston Villa with a knee complaint and failed to make the bench at Highbury also.

The Posh boss Darren Ferguson will include new signing Luke James in his squad after the striker completed his move from Hartlepool United ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday.

Posh are without Gabriel Zakuani and Kenny McEvoy who are both away on international duty.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Jack Baldwin, Erhun Oztumer and Michael Bostwick are all set to miss out and Jon Taylor remains a doubt with a knee injury.

Tickets can be bought this evening at the game and prices can be found here

The match will be live on Sky Sports and broadcast in the Leyton Orient Supporters Club.

BETTING: Orient sponsors 666Bet are offering the O’s at 9/5 tonight. Sign up for an account by visiting www.666bet.com – where all new account holders can also get a free matched bet up to £66.

Last time out...remember this night in E10 last time the two sides met?
