Honours even between the O's and the BeesLeyton Orient U18’s came from behind to pick up share of the spoils against Barnet on Saturday.
The O’s fell behind with just 20 minutes remaining, but responded almost instantly through Myles Judd and despite late chances to pick up the victory, both teams had to settle for a point.
Goalkeeper Sam Sargeant was back in the team and had a couple of saves to make early on, but both must of felt like warm up saves. Judd was causing issues early, helping on overlaps and forcing chances, and just past the 10-minute mark he headed a flat cross just over.
After a quiet 10-minute spell Barnet launched a breakaway and Orient were short of numbers at the back. However, before they could convert, captain Michael Clark slide in with a stunning last-ditch tackle.
Orient went up the other end and striker Victor Adeboyejo nearly had a goal in the most opposite of ways, with Barnet failing to clear their lines before he closed them down and deflected a clearance off his back on to the bar!
The game soon picked up pace as Orient took control, with a dominant 15-minute spell which saw Josh Koroma play a good one-two with Judd as he released down the wing, but nothing came of the move. Judd continued to be in the thick of the action and he got another shot away but it crept wide of the target.
Heading into the second half the hope was that the team could carry over the momentum they gained late on in the half, though Charley Barker was brought on for the O’s after they lost Josh Koroma to injury.
Sargeant was forced made a good save from 10 yards before Rian McLean replaced Steven Alzate.
But with just 20 minutes to play, the Bees broke the deadlock as despite Sargeant making another good save, Barnet were able to slot home the rebound.
Undeterred by falling behind, the O’s bounced back and the equaliser was almost instantaneous.
Alderson whipped in a free-kick and Judd was brave enough to go for the ball and he managed to flick the ball past the keeper, but taking a hard shot to the body in the process.
The O’s continued the trend of the first half and they ramped up the pressure in the last 15 minutes with Judd, Sam Alderson and Christian Owusu all causing late chances, but in the end they had to settle for a point.
