NEWS: Josh Wright signs for Orient

6 January 2015

Midfielder joins the club on a permanent basis

MIDFIELDER Josh Wright has today (Tuesday) joined Leyton Orient on a permanent basis following his release from Millwall yesterday (Monday).

The 25-year-old had been on loan in E10 since October and made 12 appearances before his loan expired on January 3. He has now put pen to paper on a contract with the O's until the end of the season after leaving The Den.

Speaking to www.leytonorient.com upon signing, Wright said: "I'm really pleased to sign and it's always nice to be somewhere on a permanent deal rather than a loan. I just want to kick on now and as a team we need to keep sticking together and back up these last two results. Playing here has given me the longest run I've had of games for a while and I feel fitter and stronger all the time. I'm still getting there and the sharpness is coming back. I've enjoyed it despite some indifferent results but there's a real buzz back in the place after the last two games."

Wright left Millwall yesterday having been there since 2011 but feels ready for a new challenge at the O's.

"I haven't got a bad word to say about Millwall, perhaps it could have worked out better at times but I had some of my most memorable moments in the game playing there and it's a club I will always look out for," he said.

"Now though, I'm proud and privileged to call myself a full Leyton Orient player and I'm ready to move on with the club now. We've got four or five months of the season yet to all stick together and keep working for these fans as they are a fantastic set of supporters who couldn't have made me feel more welcome. We need to kick on up the table and who knows where we can end up."
