O's bolster defensive ranks with signing of DunneThe O's have completed a deal to bring defender Alan Dunne to the Matchroom Stadium on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old joins the Club following a 15-year spell with Millwall, and linked up with his new team-mates for the first time at the training ground today.
And head coach Ian Hendon was delighted to secure the services of such an experienced player.
"Alan has been a signing that has been ongoing and has had a lot of interest from other clubs, but he brings a wealth of experience," Hendon told www.leytonorient.com.
"He can play pretty much anywhere across the back four and can also go into midfield if he is needed to. Having spoken to him he is here to play every week and is prepared to battle for his place.
"What has gone on previously with the team and stuff we have done the lads may feel a bit comfortable in how things have gone, but he is definitely here to give competition. He is not ready to sit on the sidelines, he wants to be involved and play every week and that's the type of player I want at this football club."
Prior to joining the O's, Dunne had been a one club man since joining Millwall at the age of eight. And during his time at the New Den he made 341 league appearances, scoring on 17 occasions.
He enjoyed a testimonial at the club in 2011 against Charlton Athletic, before ending his 15-year affiliation with the club at the end of the 2014-15 season.
Alan becomes the third signing of the day for the O's following on from deals for Frazer Shaw and Connor Essam.
