Fabio Liverani feels tomorrow’s League One game against Port Vale is the first of nine Cup finals as they look to boost their League One survival bid.
The O’s are keen to bounce back from last weekend’s 1-0 loss at Crawley Town, and while tomorrow’s opponents come into the game on the back of three defeats, Liverani is wary of a side who have made three new loan signings before yesterday’s deadline.
“Port Vale are a strong side and they have a very good team and will try to win the match but for us the nine matches that are left are all cup finals so we have respect for Port Vale, but we have to do our best to get the three points,” said Liverani.
“It was a good performance in the last game and we had many chances to score but not being able to convert any of those is a problem.
“It is frustrating not having scored in the last few games, but if we keep creating the chances we are sure we will start to score goals.”
Orient sit in 22nd spot going into the game, but Liverani remains confident his side has enough quality to avoid the drop.
“We all know what the table says and we know there is pressure, but we have an experienced team and it is my job to make sure we remain positive as we do our best to improve the situation we find ourselves in.
On tomorrow’s squad, the O’s boss added: “Some of the players are not 100 per cent but we will keep tabs on them before making a decision. Whoever goes out there on the pitch will give their all.”
