NEWS: Get On Your Bike!

New cycle racks are a perfect match for the O's

15 new cycle stands have been installed at Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium, meaning O’s fans can lock their bikes outside the ground while watching their team in action.

The racks have been installed by Waltham Forest Council as part of the Mini-Holland programme. “We will be improving walking and cycling infrastructure across the borough as part of the Mini-Holland programme, which includes providing more places for residents to park their bikes securely,” said Councillor Clyde Loakes, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment. “I am pleased that we have been able to team up with Leyton Orient to get these new cycle racks installed at the Matchroom.”

Marketing and Partnerships Manager for Leyton Orient FC, Rob Noble, commented, “We are pleased to support the Mini-Holland scheme and encourage more people to be active and cycle in the borough. The extra bike racks at the stadium will hopefully encourage more people to cycle to games, reducing the traffic in area and the impact this has on local residents as well as helping the environment.”

The 15 new cycle stands are located opposite the entrance to the stadium on Oliver Road, near to the Score Centre building. The Council will be working with Leyton Orient on a number of other active travel-related initiatives in the coming months.
