Defender keen to get loan off to a good start tomorrowNew loan signing Cole Kpekawa can’t wait to get started with the O’s.
The 19-year-old made a one month youth loan switch yesterday from Championship side Queens Park Rangers, and is eligible to go straight into the side for tomorrow’s home game with York City.
“I am happy to be there and I can’t wait to get started, and hopefully I can make my debut on Saturday,” he told leytonorient.com.
“The boys have been great when I came in and training was good. All the staff are treating me well so I am looking forward to my time here.
“I have been at QPR since I was eight-years-old and I have played in the first team a couple of times this season and last. I was out on loan a few times last season, and this year I am trying to get as much game time as I can.”
The England under-20 international featured for Colchester United and Portsmouth in loan spells last term, and is hoping to build on it with the O’s.
“I was at both Colchester and Portsmouth for a few months,” he added. “They were good experiences and last season was my first one as a professional so it was a good to go out and play League football for the first time.
“I learnt a lot while I was out on loan and hopefully I can build on those experiences while I am here. I have played a few times for the first team this season, coming on a couple of times in the league and cup, but this year it has been under-21s to try and get my fitness up, stay sharp, and look to get out on loan. Thankfully Leyton Orient have given me this chance which I am grateful for.
