PREVIEW: York City (H)

20 November 2015

All the information ahead of tomorrow's League Two encounter

Leyton Orient return to the Matchroom Stadium this weekend as they host York City.

Despite suffering defeat at Hartlepool United last Sunday, Ian Hendon’s side remain seventh in League Two and continue to sit in the Play-Offs.

Bradley Pritchard had given Orient an early lead, but it was the Pools who were to run out 3-1 victors following Kudus Oyenuga’s penalty and a double from Jake Gray in the second half.

York City arrive in E10 just above the relegation zone with 12 points from 17 matches, two points ahead of Yeovil Town.

Jackie McNamara saw The Minstermen suffer defeat in his first League game in charge last weekend, as Plymouth Argyle ran out 2-1 winners. Ben Godfrey did pull a goal back for York deep into stoppage time, but it was to prove too little, too late for the hosts.

Jake Jervis gave the Pilgrims a 19th minute lead with a header, and Graham Carey doubled the visitors lead just before half time after getting on the end of Gregg Wylde’s cross. Ben Godfrey did pull a goal back for York deep into stoppage time, but it was to prove too little, too late for the hosts.

York have lost their previous five matches in all competitions, and last recorded a League Two victory back in September when they defeated Newport County 3-0.

Orient raced into a two-goal lead in the first half, but had to settle for a point as York came storming back after the break.

In torrential rain the O’s struck after just three minutes when defender Justin Miller scored his first goal in senior football, before Lee Thorpe struck 10 minutes before the interval.

But Martin Ling’s side could not cope with York’s second-half onslaught as the Minstermen clawed their way back with Darren Edmondson and Stephen Brackstone netting in a five-minute spell. The draw saw the O’s finish the day in 17th place, while York City were 12th.

TEAM NEWS

Leyton Orient have Alex Cisak available once again after the goalkeeper missed the trip to Hartlepool United due to being on international duty with Australia.

Charlie Grainger deputised in his absence but the 19-year-old has been ruled out this weekend with expected appendicitis.

Cole Kpekawa arrived on loan from QPR yesterday and could make his debut against York, while Sammy Moore returns to the matchday squad having not travelled to Victoria Park last weekend.

York City look set to hand William Boyle his debut following his arrival from Huddersfield Town during the week. Boyle is expected to go straight into the starting line-up in place of Dave Winfield, who along with Luke Summerfield, is ruled out with concussion.

The Minstermen will also be boosted by the return of pair Bryn Morris and Marvin McCoy.
