PREVIEW: O's Head Coach Ian Hendon on Notts County

2 October 2015

Orient look to bounce back

Head Coach Ian Hendon is hoping a new month will bring around a change of results as the O’s look to get back to winning ways when they host Notts County tomorrow.

Orient went through September without picking up a win, but find themselves in a strong fifth position after the first 10 games of the League Two season.

“September wasn’t a good month for us in terms of results, but the performances have still been solid and we could have easily come away with three points rather than one in some of those draws,” Hendon told leytonorient.com.

“We have dominated possession and chances in most of the games, and it is now a matter of making sure we start to make the most of them.

“We have looked at the Carlisle United game in training and there are one or two things we have picked up on and while the results have been disappointing, I cannot be too disappointed with the players and their performances.”

The O’s host a Notts County side who have picked up seven points out of the last nine heading into the game, and Hendon admits they should provide another strong test for his side tomorrow.

“They have had a good run of late and they have got a very strong and large squad so they should be up a team that will be up towards the top of the table contending for promotion come the end of the season,” he added.

“But we have to focus on ourselves first and foremost and make sure our own performance levels do not drop.”
