Striker makes League Two's top-15 shortlist

O’s striker Jay Simpson has been ranked as the fifth best player in League Two this season.

Each League Two manager was asked to rank their top five players for the  2015-16 campaign in order, and the scores have been added up and compiled by the Football League to decide the overall winner.

And the 27-year-old, who has scored 25 league goals to date this season, has come in as number five in the list.

He was beaten to the top prize by Oxford United’s Kemar Roofe, while Northampton Town’s Ricky Holmes was runner-up and Bristol Rovers striker Matty Taylor finished third.

Accrington Stanley's Matty Crooks was voted fourth best player before Simpson rounded off the top five.

On the news, Simpson said: "It is nice to be in the top five for League Two and it is always pleasing to see your efforts being recognised by others. To have reached the 25 goal landmark is a good acheivement and hopefully I can add to that before the season is out."

The top-15 players from the League Two, voted for by the managers, is as follows:
