REACTION: Hessenthaler - 'The set plays have cost us again'

20 April 2016

Hessenthaler on Pilgrims defeat

Orient's Andy Hessenthaler cut a frustrated figure as set plays once again cost the O's in their 3-1 defeat to Plymouth Argyle last night.

The first two Pilgrims goals from Peter Hartley and Jake Jervis both came from Graham Carey free-kicks and Hessenthaler admitted the defending from both was particularly frustrating.

Hartley's strike came just before the half-time interval and the 50-year-old was bitterly disappointed at the timing, and felt the O's struggled at the start of the second period.

The O's now sit five points behind this Saturday's opponents AFC Wimbledon, who occupy the final Play-Off spot, and Hessenthaler knows the clash is a must win if they are to have any chance of extending the season.
