REACTION: Hessenthaler - 'We should defend better'

27 August 2016

O's boss unhappy with side's defending in home loss to Mansfield

Orient manager Andy Hessenthaler admitted his side have to defend better after seeing the O's lose out 2-1 at home to Mansfield Town.

Mitchell Rose had put the Stags in front in the second period, before Liam Kelly netted his second goal in successive games to make it 1-1.

The O's were unable to hold on though as Matt Green, who had missed a first half penalty, netted in the 89th minute to ensure all three points for Adam Murray's side.

Hessenthaler was disappointed with both goals the O's conceded and felt they should have been able to see the game out when the scores were level.

While conceding goalkeeper Alex Cisak didn't have too much to do in the O's goal, he was also disappointed that Orient failed to test Stags goalkeeper Brian Jensen regularly.
