REACTION: Edwards - 'It was the resolute performance that we needed'

10 December 2016

Edwards pleased with first win as O's boss

O's manager Andy Edwards praised his side's resolute showing in the 1-0 home win over Accrington Stanley.

Jay Simpson's second half effort sealed victory for Edwards and the O's in his first home game as boss as Orient picked up a first home league win since August 16.

Edwards was the first to admit it wasn't the most scintillating performance from the O's, but was pleased with the character showed to stay at it against 10 men after Sean McConville was dismissed midway through the first half.

The O's boss was delighted with the clean sheet as well, and admits it is about building the confidence back up in the squad ahead of the trip to Wycombe Wanderers next weekend.
