Frenchman eager for things to turn around at the Matchroom StadiumOrient midfielder Nigel Atangana is keen for last weekend’s win at Notts County to be the start of a great run of results if the O’s want to maintain their hopes of a League Two Play-Off spot.
The victory at Meadow Lane was the perfect response to a 4-0 home defeat against Northampton Town the previous week, and while the performance was not up to their high standards, the Frenchman knows it’s imperative to pick up three points as the end of the season draws every closer.
“It was a tough game but it is always nice to win away from home,” said Atangana. “We didn’t play great football but we were able to pick up the win.”
“We are coming down to the final few games now and we are only a couple of points away from the Play-Offs.
“Everything is possible and if we keep winning then we will give ourselves the best possible chance of making the Play-Offs.”
Atangana returned to the side following a two-game absence, and was pleased to be back involved.
“It was nice to be back in the team at Notts County as I missed the Portsmouth one due to the gentlemen’s agreement.
“The boys then put in an excellent performance at Pompey so the Gaffer stayed with the same team for the Northampton game.”
