REACTION: Nolan pleased with second half improvement in Newport win

26 January 2016

Player-manager content with gritty nature of victory

Orient player-manager Kevin Nolan was happy his side were able to see off Newport County and move into the League Two play-offs.

A Jay Simpson penalty five minutes from time, his 22nd goal of the season, saw Orient record back-to-back wins for the first time since the end of August.

While Nolan admitted it wasn't their best performance by a long shot, the 33-year-old was happy to see the O's get over the line against the Exiles, and move into sixth spot in the League Two table as a result.
