Youth team hit four past Stevenage in emphatic winLeyton Orient U18s produced a rampant performance as they thumped Stevenage 4-0.
Josh Koroma gave the O’s a first half lead, before substitute Sam Dalby bagged a second half brace and Rian Mclean sealed the impressive victory late on.
Once again injuries meant the team had to make changes in defence, as Tristan Abrahams was a make shift left back, while Charley Barker occupied the right back position. Mclean would once again play at centre back alongside Aron Pollock.
The game took a while to get going although it flowed end to end, both teams were struggling to force a proper chance. Mclean had a great chance from a corner just past the 10-minute mark, but instead of heading the ball towards goal, tried taking a touch with his chest and the chance vanished.
With the short passing attack struggling to find any way through, Sam Sargeant decided to propel a long ball straight for the head of Victor Adeboyejo, who remarkably flicked it on for himself to claim and teed up Josh Koroma for a simple tap in to make it 1-0.
Once the defence had been breached the flood gates begun pouring and Adeboyejo was causing a nuisance. He weaved his way into the box before firing for the bottom corner but was well saved, and only a minute later he was forcing another good save from 18 yards.
All the good work though would have been practically undone if it hadn’t been for a tremendous double save to open the second half from Sargeant, saving low to his left, before tipping the rebound onto the post.
A double substitution then paved way for the game to turn on its head as Sam Dalby and Ruel Sotiriou replaced Christian Owusu and Adeboyejo.
Sotiriou was an instant impact out wide causing issues with his pace, and picked up the ball midway into his own half and launched a perfect counter after a Stevenage free kick, travelling 40 yards before feeding through Dalby, who kept his composure to superbly dink a chip over the keeper for 2-0.
Pat Adamson then gave way for Teddy Perkins, and the game was put to bed five minutes later as Dalby once again left the bench in awe, cutting in from the right and onto his left foot to curve a perfect shot into the far top corner, no keeper in the world have got a hand on that.
The rampant scoring spree was complete three minutes later as a charging Mclean was spotted by Dalby, and a simple pass set Mclean up to drive the ball home with power and precision.
