LOAN ROUND UP: Latest look at the young O's out on loan

30 March 2016

A round-up of all the O's out on loan in non league

Scott Kashket - Welling United

The O’s striker came off the bench in Welling’s goalless draw with National League Play-Off hopefuls Eastleigh on Good Friday.

The Wings’ cause wasn’t helped by the dismissal of Michael Bakare after 25 minutes, but despite the numerical disadvantage, the Kent outfit were able to hold firm to pick up a point.

Kashket was back in the starting line-up for Welling’s encounter with Woking on Easter Monday and they took the lead through Kevin Lokko’s first half strike.

The 19-year-old remained on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes Nortei Nortey doubled their lead as the Wings went on to pick up a 2-0 victory.

Kashket will be hoping to remain in the side for the trip to Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

Sandro Semedo - Chelmsford City

The Portuguese winger featured from the start in the Clarets 1-0 National League South defeat to Concord Rangers last weekend.

Steve Cawley’s 68th minute effort proved to be the difference between the two sides, before Semedo was replaced in the 78th minute by Luke Daley.

Semedo was back in action two days later when Chelmsford hosted Maidstone United, and played his part – forcing Stones keeper Lee Worgan into a fine stop, with Kevin Maher’s side already 1-0 to the good thanks to Jason Williams’ strike.

The 19-year-old was again substituted for Luke Daley on 82 minutes, before Williams doubled his and the Clarets lead, and Daley sealed the win in stoppage time.

Chelmsford are due to host Bath City on Saturday, before making the trip to Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday.

Sam Ling, Jack Humphrey, Christian Owusu – Histon

Ling and Humphrey both remained on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes as Histon were defeated 2-0 at Southern League Premier Division Play-Off chasers Merthyr Town last weekend.

After a goalless first half, Merthyr scored twice through Keyon Ruffell and James Bloom after 72 minutes and 88 minutes respectively.

Christian Owusu was added to the squad for Easter Monday’s match at Biggleswade Town, and came off the bench as Histon lost out 2-1.

Once again, Ling and Humphrey played the whole match, and saw them fall behind in the 13th minute through Evan Key. Sam Ives restored parity in the 29th minute, though Key restored Biggleswade’s lead five minutes before the break.

Histon are due to travel to Bedworth United on Saturday.
