Midfielder on the O's frustrating Easter

It has been a disappointing Easter for the O’s and midfielder Nigel Atangana knows there needs to be a big improvement for the final seven games of the regular Sky Bet League Two season.

Defeats against Accrington Stanley and Hartlepool United have seen the O’s slip out of the Play-Off places and are now two points adrift of Wycombe Wanderers who occupy the final Play-Off spot at the moment.

Atangana couldn’t hide his disappointment with Monday’s result, and in particular the two goals the O’s conceded.

“It was a tough game and we are all disappointed with the result and the manner in which we conceded the two goals,” Atangana told Orient PlayerHD.

“We have not had the clean sheets in the last two games as well – that’s something we had been doing in recent weeks with the Gaffer.

“We have had a discussion after the game and we need to make sure we keep believing and stick together.

He added: “I am disappointed for the fans as well as we haven’t rewarded them over Easter and for that I am sorry, but I am sure we will all do the maximum we can to get back into the Play-Off places.

The O’s have just seven games left now as they look to secure a Play-Off spot, and the French midfielder added: “It is seven finals now for us and I know it is a cliché but we have to take it game by game.

“If we do the right things on the pitch we will give ourselves the best opportunity to make those Play-Offs.”
