REACTION: Nolan happy to win 'without playing well'

19 March 2016

Player-manager reflects on Morecambe victory

Player-manager Kevin Nolan admitted his side didn't punish Morecambe enough as they picked up a 1-0 win against 10 men.

A Ryan Edwards own goal in the second period saw the O's move back into the Play-Off places, but played a large part of the game against 10 men after goalkeeper Barry Roche was shown his marching orders in the first period.

Jay Simpson missed the subsequent penalty and despite dominating found sub goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara in good form as he denied the hosts on several occasions.

Despite the disappointment though, Nolan was pleased his side's perseverance paid off and admitted it's imperative to pick up points despite not playing to your full potential.
