REACTION: Kennedy - 'That simply was not good enough'

6 November 2016

Full-back apologises to supporters following heavy defeat

Defender Callum Kennedy labelled the O’s performance at Sheffield United as ‘embarrassing’ and apologised to supporters following their 6-0 FA Cup defeat.

The 26-year-old acknowledged the display was in no means acceptable and explained that a lot of hard work has to be put in to make amends for not only the defeat at Bramall Lane, but for how the season has panned out as a whole thus far with the club sitting 23rd in League Two.

Following the match, Kennedy also revealed that the players had held an honest and frank discussion in the dressing room in a bid to rectify any issues, though admitted they can't feel sorry for themselves with the team back in action Tuesday night at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Checkatrade Trophy.
