REACTION: Edwards - 'We showed great character, attitude and commitment'

27 September 2016

Interim Manager proud of side's performance

O's interim manager Andy Edwards couldn't fault the performance of Orient's nine-men as they valiantly lost out 2-0 to Plymouth Argyle.

Orient were dealt the harshest of cards with skipper Robbie Weir shown his marching orders just 30 seconds in for a challenge on Ben Purrington by the touchline, before falling 1-0 down to Jimmy Spencer's strike.

The 10 men became nine when debutant Jens Janse followed Weir into the dressing room after bringing down Jake Jervis as the last man.

The O's battled away though and it wasn't until six minutes from time that Plymouth sealed the victory through substitute Ryan Donaldson.

Edwards was full of praise for his side following the showing, and is keen for the team to take that spirit and determination into Saturday's trip to Barnet.
