Orient goalkeepers Charlie Grainger and Sam Sargeant took some time after their recent squad photo shoot to pop over the road from the Matchroom Stadium and into the Score Centre to engage with some of the young people partaking in the Leyton Orient Trust’s summer holiday programme.
Over 60 children aged between 5 -16 had taken part in football and multi-sport activities throughout the week and the two O’s stoppers dropped in to chat, sign autographs and hand out matchday tickets to the lucky participants.
James Court, Leyton Orient Trust (LOT) head coach, said; “We always appreciate the player’s giving up their time to come in and speak to the kids and Charlie and Sam are great. They’ve both been over in the past and always get involved. In fact I have to tell them to calm down as I don’t want to be responsible for any injuries! The kids really do love asking questions and getting stuff signed and the tickets are very popular. It certainly works as we are seeing more of them wearing O’s shirts these days.”
And Charlie commented; “I don’t mind doing these visits at all. It’s important we engage with the young supporters and these sessions are always fun.”
There is another Theo’s Holiday Course at Score on Thursday (August 31) and Friday (September 1). The two-day course is for children aged 5-13 and runs from 10am-3pm each day, priced at £30.
